Membership dues for the Sage Lake Association support SLA activities, boater safety classes, mailings, and insurance. Beyond the $45 annual household membership, we have a general fund and five special-purpose funds our generous community contributes to:
Aquatic Habitat Management Fund: Donations support Sage Lake ecosystem-related expenses and can include surveys, water quality reports, and education-related expenses. This fund does not pay for weed treatment, which is a tax assessment.
Fireworks Fund: Donations pay for the Fourth of July firework display each year. Fish Fund: Donations pay for fish stocking, fishing tournament payouts and expenses, habitat improvement programs, and education and outreach efforts.
Neighborhood Watch and Safety Fund: Donations support neighborhood watch signage, funds to cover gas used while on watch patrol, meeting expenses, boating safety classes, and community safety-related expenses.
Scholarship Fund: Each year, the SLA awards one $1,000 scholarship each to a graduating senior from Hale High School and Ogemaw Heights High School.
Members can vote at SLA meetings, serve on committees, run for office, and receive spring and fall newsletters, member directory, and email updates. They know their dues help make the Sage Lake community a better place to live and play. Some businesses give discounts to SLA members.
